The next XRW book group will discuss The Invisible Doctrine by George Monbiot and Peter Hutchinson. The “invisible doctrine”. is neoliberalism, a theory that has underpinned the ideology of the free market for the past 40 years. This book is a "passionate, informed polemic that is short but packed with detail and incisive analysis" (The Guardian). Please join us for our usual lively discussion about the book and the wider issues it raises.

A BBC Arts editor says this: 'The Machine Stops is not simply prescient; it is jaw-droppingly, gob-smackingly, breath-takingly accurate ..'  Please join us to chat about E M Forster's vision of the future - everyone is welcome!

Barclays are closing a large branch in Wimbledon and a smaller branch is opening nearby on 27 April. It is such great news that our favourite fossil-fuel-financing, weapons-financing bank is still going to have a presence in Wimbledon - let's give them a warm welcome! The more the merrier. The welcome party will be there from 12pm until 2pm.

As part of our Wake Up Wandsworth campaign, we had a successful action on 4 March to highlight the need for emergency planning at the local level. Now we're planning an action around biodiversity.  Do join us and get stuck into planning.

Our fortnightly planning meetings are a good way to meet others from the Wandsworth group. If you're new and prefer just to take a back seat and observe for a bit, that's fine. All welcome!
